Welcome to P.S. 48X

The Joseph Rodman Drake School

Inspiring lifelong learners through love,
leadership, and academic excellence.

About our Pride

At P.S. 48X – The Joseph Rodman Drake School, we believe that every child deserves a joyful, engaging, and culturally responsive learning experience. Nestled in the heart of Hunts Point, our school is more than a place of learning—it’s a thriving community where students are encouraged to grow as leaders, thinkers, and compassionate citizens.

As a United Community School, we partner closely with families, local organizations, and dedicated staff to support the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. Our students show up every day ready to ROAR with TIGER Pride, demonstrating Teamwork, Integrity, Gratitude, Empathy, and Respect in all they do.

From outdoor learning in our garden classroom to vibrant arts, music, and enrichment programs, we’re proud to create a school environment where every student is seen, supported, and celebrated.
